Geoff Marx

After years of practice as a pharmacist and alternative therapies specialist, Geoff’s work now focuses on his teaching at the Sydney Astrology School, his astrological counselling practice, and his facilitation as an energy therapist.

Geoff’s career interests started at school with a fascination with organic chemistry, particularly with atoms, electrons and other subatomic particles. Also having an interest in health and the community, led Geoff to study Pharmacy at the University of Sydney in 1982.

Geoff became disillusioned with the limited choices for helping people with their health concerns as most treatments available in pharmacy were addressing only the symptoms and not the cause of people’s problems. Geoff started to investigate alternative medicines which could safely heal ailments. Geoff’s philosophy was to empower people with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions on which type of medicine was best suited for their needs.

Geoff opened his first Pharmacy in Oxford St, Paddington in 1991, and as a qualified  herbalist and pharmacist quickly began attracting clients who wanted to address their health concerns from what both traditional and western medicine had to offer.  Geoff’s interests in alternate healing modalities grew, and as he studied, Geoff became increasingly aware of the body-mind connection associated with healing.

Geoff still felt however, that there was something missing in his practice and after studying Astrology out of interest Geoff not only found his passion but also what he considered to be missing for him in his practice, that being the underlying belief system (spiritual) of the individual. How the energetic arrangement of the planets found in the birth chart could profoundly impact the individual’s belief system began to unfold for Geoff as he found this to be at the core of body-mind manifestations.

Geoff’s interests in spiritual work and energy exchange have continued and he is now a Reiki Master, an Avatar Master and has also completed other energy training with emphasis on Energy Clearing, Past Life Exploration, and Channeling. Geoff is a guest lecturer for the AANSW (Astrologers Association of NSW), and also currently lectures at Nature Care College where his unique blend of experience and wealth of knowledge from all the healing modalities he has studied are well received.

It has been a long journey from the initial interest in the microcosm of electrons spinning around an atom to the macrocosm of the planets spinning around the Sun. Both systems containing energetic information yet to be fully understood or explained, and yet both seem to be inexplicably linked. “As above so below”

Marc Laurenson

Marc has obtained the Federation of Australian Astrologers (FAA) Diploma in Astrology. Marc was presented with both the Allan Johnson and Doris Greaves Awards by the FAA for the highest examination mark in Australia for these exams. In 2009 Marc was also awarded with the Gold Medal for Astrological excellence by the FAA for the highest overall result in all four of the FAA examinations.

His passion for Astrology began as a child with a fascination for the planets and the zodiac.

During early adulthood Marc’s studies brought him to the conclusion that there was a major link between our essential energy and that of the solar system. He now realised that we play in tandem with the currents and rhythms of the planets as we seek a way to evolve.

Armed with this knowledge Marc incorporated Astrological techniques as a volunteer counselor at the Wayside community centre honing his craft in a more hands on environment.

Meeting the late Parampara Hughes was another springboard in Marc’s astrological career as she introduced to him to the art of feeling the energies deep within a chart incorporating a fuller richer expression of Astrology.

This led to him becoming a practicing Astrologer with the goal of empowering people and guiding them toward more fulfilling lives. Marc gained his Cert IV in training and assessment and began teaching private classes and workshops as well being a guest teacher at Nature Care College.

As Marc’s teaching grew, he joined forces with colleague Geoff Marx at Sydney Astrology School to create more opportunities for students to continue their studies. As Marc has the FAA awarded diploma he is able to tutor students in advanced areas of Astrology as well as broadening their knowledge in specialist areas.

Marc is enthused about his involvement with Sydney Astrology School and is proud to be part of a school dedicated wholly and solely to the education of this amazing science.
